Deschutes County Search and Rescue was called out Sunday to assist a trail bike rider who was injured near Bend.
It happened at 12:19 p.m. on Tiddlywinks Trail just west of Larsen’s Trail, west of Bend.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says a juvenile crashed his bike and was injured to the extent that he was unable to walk out for help.
Ten volunteers and a Special Services Deputy responded.
While Search and Rescue were headed out, fellow riders were able to help the injured rider far enough down the trail that he was able to begin walking on his own along with his family.
Search and Rescue reached the rider with a wheeled litter by 1:05 p.m., provided medical assistance and took him to a nearby forest service road, the county said.
The biker declined to be transported by ambulance.
