A Salem man was caught in an online sting in Redmond Tuesday morning, accused by police of trying to arrange sex with a 15-year-old girl. That girl, it turned out, was an undercover police detective.

Redmond Police say that Daniel Holman Jr., 50, reached out online to the fictitious girl Monday. During their interaction, Holman allegedly acknowledged the girl was 15 and then began having sexually explicit conversations with her. Holman arranged to travel to Redmond to meet the girl and have sexual contact, Redmond Police said.

Holman allegedly contacted the girl Tuesday morning, saying he was in the area of SW 31st Street and SW Highland Avenue on the western edge of Redmond. Police said he was arrested for first degree online sexual corruption of a child and luring of a minor and taken to the Deschutes County Jail on $25,000 bail. He did not appear in the jail register as of Tuesday afternoon.
