Former Oregon State Representative Mike McLane is running to represent parts of Central Oregon in the state senate.
McLane is running in District 30, which represents southeastern Oregon as well as Crook County and parts of Deschutes and Jefferson counties.
The seat currently held by Republican Lynn Findley, who announced he will not be running for re-election.
Findley is among the senators who participated in the six-week walkout earlier this year. He’s also one of five senators, including Senator Tim Knopp of Bend, who are suing the Oregon Secretary of State over Measure 113. That’s the voter-approved measure aimed at preventing legislators who walk out from running for re-election.
