BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — The board of county commissioners is meeting Wednesday with a hefty amount of action items to go through and discuss. County commissioners moved to approve accepting Central Oregon Health Councils grant, in the amount of $80,000 to Deschutes County Health Services.
DCHS will use the grant money to purchase a mobile outreach van. “This funding will allow DCHS to provide Public Health mobile clinic services to our rural and vulnerable populations,” said DCHS.
” We feel like it’s really important we reach out to people who don’t have access. Who don’t have transportation, resources for gas,” Deschutes County Health Services Manager Clinical Services Anne Kilty said.
County Commissioner Phil Chang thanked DCHS for their services.
“Thank you for bringing health services to people who need it,” said Chang.
Kelsey McGee is speaking with Kilty to see if the mobile outreach van has been overdue. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Five.
