
A conference was held in Redmond Tuesday aimed at creating a more inclusive community.
The Breaking Barriers conference was a space where educators, service providers, families and those with disabilities could meet to learn and connect.
“Our vision is for an inclusive community where barriers don’t exist and labels such as disability have no meaning,” organizers said on the conference website. “This conference will serve as a platform to share the unique and diverse perspectives of all members of our community. Together we will learn to create a truly inclusive society, where all people will enjoy a fulfilling and self-directed life beyond labels.:
Conference session titles included “Diversified Communication and Compassion,” “Practical Emergency Preparedness for Busy Families” and “The Autism Road Map.”
There were also sessions in Spanish.
