Bend’s new shared e-bikes prompting concerns over their speed, where they’re being used

BEND ,Ore. (KTVZ) — Bend recently became the first city in Oregon to offer Bird’s rentable e-bikes, meant to make the area more accessible.

The e-bikes have been in Bend only a short while, but it’s causing some controversy over their speeds and where people are riding them.

NewsChannel 21’s Kelsey McGee is speaking with a Bend Park and Recreation board member to learn more about the park district’s rules about e-bikes. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Five.
