The Bend-La Pine School District said Monday it cannot finalize the 2024-25 school calendar until contract negotiations between the district and teachers is completed.

While the district has solidified the dates for holidays and breaks, it can’t yet share dates for things like school conferences.

“We are currently negotiating with the teachers about extending the contract year, whether that’s by one day or two days. But where those days fall on the new calendar can make make a difference in a lot of the other dates that are important to families,” said Bend-La Pine spokesman Scott Maben.

Here are the holidays and breaks for the upcoming school year.

  • September 2 – Labor Day
  • November 25-29 – Thanksgiving Break
  • November 11 – Veterans Day
  • December 23-January 3 – Winter Break
  • January 20 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • February 17 – Presidents Day
  • March 24-28 – Spring Break
  • May 26 – Memorial Day

Talks between the district and Bend Education Association are set to resume January 19.
