The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office said it assisted Oregon State Police in the La Pine area Thursday night, looking for an “armed and dangerous” person who ran from a traffic stop.
The sheriff’s office said on Facebook the suspect was seen running in the area of Del Pino Drive and Day Road. Law enforcement were searching the area of Big Timber Lane and Buena Vista Drive. K-9s assisted in the search.
DCSO said a notice went out to area residents via the Emergency Preparedness Network.
The suspect is descried as a male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark hoodie.
When asked by Central Oregon Daily for an update Friday, DCSO directed us to Oregon State Police as it was the primary agency.
