Slash pile burning today on the Crooked River National Grassland

209 acres of slash piles will be burned starting today, weather permitting, on the Crooked River National Grassland adjacent to Grandview, the 3 Rivers Subdivision and Lake Billy Chinook. The smoke will be visible from Highway 97 but shouldn’t create any traffic issues. The slash piles are being burned to reduce hazardous fuels and improve winter range for big game.
