Ahead of First Friday Art Walk in Redmond this week, Good Morning Central Oregon’s Megan Sinclair sat down with woodworker Bill Hunt, who started sculpting creatures just six years ago.

“In the old pioneer ranches in Central Oregon, there’s a lot of the old fence posts. And so I look for the fence posts. I look for really unusual shapes. It’s like Michelangelo’s said, the art was already in the piece and I just let it out.” Hunt said.

You can see Bill’s work in person at the Redmond First Friday Art Walk, which starts at 4:00 p.m. Friday.

The following weekend, more than 50 artists will be at the Fall Art Show and Sale put on by the Dry Canyon Art Association. That’s at the Redmond High School Commons Nov. 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Nov. 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

You can watch Good Morning Central Oregon every Monday – Friday, 5 – 7 a.m. on KOHD/ABC and KBNZ/CBS. The 6 a.m. hour also livestreams on centraloregondaily.com.
