The Mountain View Cougars and Summit Storm both came away with blowout victories in the Oregon 5A football quarterfinals Friday. The two teams from Bend are now one win away from potentially setting up an all-High Desert matchup for the state title.
The Cougars took care of Hillsboro, 41-20. Mountain View will hit the road to face Silverton next Friday.
The Storm held Lebanon at bay after a close 21-14 lead at the half, and finished the game winning 49-14. Summit’s win sets up a semifinal matchup next week at Wilsonville — the team the Storm beat in last year’s 5A championship game.
Summit lost a regular season game at Wilsonville 35-20 on Sept. 22.
