It would be pretty difficult to miss the lightning, thunder and rain moving through Central Oregon Tuesday afternoon.
A Red Flag or Fire Weather Warning is in place for Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties through the end of Tuesday due to the risk of lightning starting a fire.
As of 1:28 p.m., Central Oregon Daily News Meteorologist Dorrell Wenninger said “The bulk of this thunderstorm is clearing the greater Bend area and continuing to move NNW, between Sisters & Redmond. Frequent lightning, heavy downpours and strong wind gusts are still expected with this cell.”
One lightning strike Tuesday morning knocked out power to 34,000 Pacific Power customers.
