▶️ Hundreds flock to Hydro Flask Seconds Sale in Bend

Hundreds of people lined up around the block at the Hydro Flask headquarters in Bend Thursday for the company’s Seconds Sale. And this was in the middle of a work day.

The cashless event, which helps raise funds for local nonprofits, started at noon. But people were lined up well before that.

The company was selling discontinued items plus lightly scratched and dented or unused merchandise for a discount.

Half the proceeds will go to Central Oregon Trail Alliance, Oregon Adaptive Sports and Boys & Girls Club Bend.

“I mean we couldn’t be more excited for this event because it provides substantial support for our organization,” said Cara Frank, Development Director for Oregon Adaptive Sports. “We’ll be using it to help fund outdoor equipment and that’s going to continue to improve accessibility to the great outdoors.”

“Incredible,” said Bess Goggins, CEO for Boys and Girls Clubs of Bend. “It means that our kids receives scholarships to attend our after-school and summer programing. We’re able to invest in our community and insure that all kids have an equitable opportunity to join us.”

“It’s probably going to go towards winter grooming and tools and maintenance,” said Vanessa Fron, Program Coordinator for Central Oregon Trail Alliance. “We have an entire group of people who go out on snowmobiles to groom the fat bike trails for everyone and with winter coming up that’s going to be our next priority.”

Hydro Flask says it’s all about giving back to the place it calls home.

“This is our backyard,” said Lucas Alberg, Senior Brand Communications Manager for Hydro Flask. “Bend still plays a very important role in our product development and to our brand ethos. It’s really ingrained in our DNA, and so for us to give back to the citizens of Bend and just to the community of Central Oregon at large is huge for us.”

There was also a food donation bin to collect items for the Bend Food Project.
