Local Red Cross Volunteers head to California to help fire victims

Some local members of the American Red Cross have made their way to California to help those affected by the wildfires. Red Cross members from across the state have been sent to Texas, California and West Virginia to help people dealing with floods and fires. Dick and Theresa Grimes from Bend are in Kern County where 150 homes have been destroyed and 3 thousand people evacuated. Red Cross members are helping at the shelter along with providing food and other supplies.


R.L. has won numerous local, state, and national awards for his news coverage and community involvement. He is in the Oregon Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame as a 2004 Heritage Broadcaster of the Year. Over his 38-year career he has been a mainstay in the Central Oregon media.
